This year’s 24 hour party at the Disneyland Resort to kick off the summer starts this Friday, May 23 at 6:00 a.m. and continues until 6:00 a.m. the next day, Saturday, May 24. The 24 hour party to kick off summer is starting to become an annual tradition at the Disneyland Resort, beginning with last year’s Monstrous Summer ‘All-Nighter’ (2012’s One More Disney Day occurred during Leap Day). This year’s theme of Rock Your Disney Side encourages guests to come in costume as their favorite Disney hero or villain. This is one of the rare times that guests will be allowed to wear costumes at the parks, as it is generally not allowed, except for the annual Halloween party events. Not sure yet how to fill your 24 hours at the Disneyland Resort? Here’s a complete guide, including information about entertainment, food, merchandise and even how to line up! Arriving and Lining Up The parks officially open at 6:00 a.m. on May 23, but guests will be allowed to join a pre-opening queue starting at 12 midnight on May 23. Games, blankets, chairs, tents and sleeping bags will be allowed in the pre-opening queue, but these items must be returned to your car or stored in a locker at 3:00 a.m., at which time all guests will be moved through security checkpoints to the Disneyland Resort Esplanade. Why fall in line this early? The first 2,000 guests in line will receive exclusive commemorative event lanyards. Be sure to carpool to the event – cars with four or more passengers parking at the Disneyland resort will receive the following incentives: Guests and Annual Passholders without pre-paid parking will receive a discounted parking rate of $8 (oversize vehicles not eligible) Annual Passholders with pre-paid parking will receive one voucher per vehicle for one free popcorn scoop and one bottled beverage, redeemable at any outdoor vending cart within the parks All Annual Passholders and their passengers will also receive a special Toy Story commuter button (button quantity is limited and will be given only while supplies last) Costumes will be allowed during the event, and are allowed to cover your face, but your vision cannot be obstructed and your eyes must be visible at all times.
